Ballyconnell Credit Union Limited was established in 1986 and has grown steadily to become a leading provider of financial services within our community.
Services available to our Members include Current Accounts and Debit Cards, online banking, loans, standing orders, direct debits and foreign exchange.
Ballyconnell Credit Union is a not-for-profit financial institution serving members in West Cavan since 1986.
As a member-owned cooperative, it empowers members to have control over their financial affairs; each member has equal opportunities to vote and participate in decisions that affect them.
The voluntary Board of Directors, elected at the Annual General Meeting, oversees the Credit Union. Ballyconnell Credit Union's ethos centres around serving our community while treating everyone with dignity and respect.
Our Mission Statement
The Mission of our Credit Union is to promote the financial wellbeing of its members. To achieve this purpose we are committed to providing a broad range of innovative financial products supported by the excellent service of our dedicated, well-trained staff. These programs will be administered in accordance with sound management practices to maintain the financial strength of our Credit union. The Board of Directors, Management and Staff of our Credit Union hereby affirm that their efforts will be consistently and professionally dedicated to the accomplishment of this mission.

Credit Union founded first temporary office in Main Street, Ballyconnell

Purchased first office in Main Street, Ballyconnell
1988
First Member of Staff employed

Move to newly built office in Church Street, Ballyconnell

Assets exceed Ir Punt £1million & Accounts become computerised

New office in Swanlinbar opened

New site purchased & Euro changeover

The Board of Directors has responsibility for the general control, direction and management of the affairs, funds and records of Ballyconnell Credit Union.

Our purpose-built office in Ballyconnell offers extensive parking facilities and is open six days a week (Monday – Friday 10:00 – 17:00 & Saturday 9:30 – 15:00 *Closed for lunch 13:00 – 14:00*). Our Swanlinbar office is open every Friday (10:00 – 17:00 *Closed for lunch 13:00 – 14:00*) where Members may also wish to transact their business. Joining the Credit Union is the best decision you could take for your money. To become a member of Ballyconnell Credit Union, you will need to fill in the Membership Application Form online. Once you have completed the form, a member of staff will be in touch with you.
